Introduction

Hello, my name is Nora Julia Veres ( Nori for short) a designer and women’s tailor.

I specialize and believe in bespoke and made to order occasional creations. My passion is creativity which I show you through my airy, timeless and delicately designed clothing that perfectly fits the wearer. This way there is no need to alter the gown and spend more money and waste more time from your precious life.

The clothes are made from high-quality, carefully selected materials in my home atelier.

„The details ar not the details. They make the design.”
/Charles Aimes/

My profession is my hobby and I am passionate about it.

I am never afraid to take on challenging work. Throughout my career, as I have added further skills and experiences, I have never lost the feeling of joy that creating beautiful clothes can bring.

Creating bespoke gowns is a really personal process  and could be seen as a kind of luxury today.

Creating a bespoke gown is a collaboration between me and my customer, and can be seen as a luxury today due to the nature of the design process itself. It is a much more personal process than simply picking something up readymade from a shelf.

Beginnings

I have been surrounded by a creative atmosphere from my childhood. Since then, I have been attracted to textures, dresses, and colours and have delighted in creating hand-made garments and accessories,

I am carrying on the tradition of a long line of women who handcrafted home furnishings and beautiful things to wear. It took a while before I decided to switch career permanently after my more than 20 years of experience as a hobby-sewer.

I am mostly self-taught and, after having children, I had the desire to learn more, and so studied fashion design and women’s tailoring. Here I learned great skills and could build my confidence to attain my dream and start my own business.

My experience

I studied fashion design and women’s tailoring in the oldest traditional fashion school in Budapest, Hungary.  The last semester I spent a half year as an intern in the Hungarian Opera House where I could deepen my sewing and tailoring skills in magical surroundings. I learned the secrets of the craft from  master tailors and seamstresses there and I was lucky to work with a wonderful and massive fabric range, and fell in love with occasional dressmaking for good.

In that time I started to design and create my first bridal dresses for individual commissions.

After my second child was born I went in a slightly different direction: I was a co-founder of a Hungarian kids’ clothing brand producing eco-friendly and reversible clothing for the smallest ones.

In addition to this, I could have a taster of dance clothing creation as well, when I obtained a few commissions to make costumes for Rythmic Gymnastic junior group performances.

Since I have had children, I have mostly been engaged in children’s and girls’ clothing and my view of fashion itself has changed. I decided to  design and create in a more responsible way for the enviroment. In the meantime, I moved to Ireland with my young family.

Own brand

with a commitment to sustainability

Based on my previous experience and the news from the fashion world, it became clear to me that making the production of clothing and the design process sustainable is a key for our future.

Environmental protection is very important to me which is why I strive to work with a high proportion of sustainable materials and carefully select my material range – my core fabrics are:

  • Luxury surplus fabrics from haut couture fashion brands
  • Natural end materials: cotton, linen, silk, shantung are never out of fashion and show a special, high-end taste.
  • Organic materials (cotton, linen, hemp and new generation Tencel, with BCOC, GOTZ, OEKO-TEx certificates)
  • recycled synthetic fabrics
  • Minimal waste – I make small accessories from the cut offs and use zero waste cut when possible.

Not only the fabric and the materials, but the craftsmanship and the high-end finish is also important for a beautifully made gown.

The Flowlife couture, the name of the brand refers to my desire to show to my customers their feminity, natural beauty & freedom through my creations  in an individual way when we come across each other’s way at a point in our flowing life.

My customers are those women and their daughters for whom naturalness means a lot, both spirituality and physically; who are conscious of the effects their choices make, freely realize their dreams, and are active and edgy in their style and lifestyle. They like to have adventures and live!

The flowlife couture offers the moment of a lifetime for many customers.

Their pleasure is also mine. I’m hoping that I can help you to have a dress of which you could be proud for ever.
